Woodman Intake Is Not Release
Linda Woodman Unit is a TDCJ diagnostic intake facility for female offenders. Its official operations include substance-abuse screening and assessment. When a woman leaves the Coryell County Jail or another county jail and then appears at Woodman, she has moved into state custody. The county custodian may record a transfer, but that is not a community release.

Confirm Woodman Release Status
Use the official TDCJ offender search, not the Sheriff's live roster. Search by the seven-digit TDCJ number or SID number when known. Otherwise use the name fields and carefully compare date, offense, conviction county, court, and location. A match requires more than a similar name.
The status check should answer direction as well as date:
- Confirm the exact person through TDCJ or SID number and identifiers.
- Determine whether Woodman is a current intake location or an older placement.
- Check later location history for classification transfer to another TDCJ unit.
- Read projected and scheduled release fields only by their official definitions.
- After a planned date, verify actual release, supervision, or discharge in the completed record.

Woodman Transfer or Community Exit
A person can disappear from Woodman's current location field because classification moved her to another TDCJ prison. That remains incarceration. Woodman Release Date Evidence

Coryell County contains six TDCJ prisons in addition to the county jail. Woodman performs diagnostic intake. Crain also has intake work and serves as a regional release site. The close mix of these functions makes Gatesville a place where entry, internal transfer, release planning, and completed exit can all appear in nearby records.
Facility geography does not settle custody status. A person can leave the county jail for Woodman and still be confined. She can leave Woodman for Crain or another prison and remain confined. She can later be processed at a scheduled release location and begin supervision.
